Surah An-Naml
وَكَانَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
Wa kāna fil-madīnati tis‘atu rahṭiy yufsidūna fil-arḍi wa lā yuṣliḥūn(a).
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].

552) What is meant by the city in this verse is the city of the people of Thamud, which is the city of al-Hijr.
