Surah As-Sajdah

يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ

Yudabbirul-amra minas-samā'i ilal-arḍi ṡumma ya‘ruju ilaihi fī yaumin kāna miqdāruhū alfa sanatim mimmā ta‘uddūn(a).

He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a thousand years of those which you count.

605) What is meant by the matter ascending to Him is that the news of it is carried up by the angels. This verse serves as a parable for the greatness and majesty of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He).
