Surah Az-Zumar
فَٱعْبُدُوا۟ مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَا ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْخُسْرَانُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
Fa‘budū mā syi'tum min dūnih(ī), qul innal-khāsirīnal-lażīna khasirū anfusahum wa ahlīhim yaumal-qiyāmah(ti), alā żālika huwal-khusrānul-mubīn(u).
So worship what you will besides Him." Say, "Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss."

660) This command is not meant in a literal sense, but rather as an expression of the wrath of Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) towards the polytheists who persistently disbelieved, despite being repeatedly called to monotheism.
