Surah Al-Hijr
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ ٱلْمَثَانِى وَٱلْقُرْءَانَ ٱلْعَظِيمَ
Wa laqad ātaināka sab‘am minal-maṡānī wal-qur'ānal-‘aẓīm(a).
And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an.
📝 Footnotes
408) What is meant by the seven oft-repeated verses is Surah al-Fatihah, which consists of seven verses. Some commentators (mufassir) state that what is meant are the seven long surahs, namely al-Baqarah, Ali 'Imran, al-Ma'idah, an-Nisa', al-A'raf, al-An'am, and al-Anfal combined with at-Tawbah.
