📝 Footnotes
405) The dwellers of Al-Hijr were the people of Thamud, the people of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him). Al-Hijr is the name of a place located in Wadi al-Qura between Madinah and Syria. 406) What is meant by "messengers" here is Prophet Salih (peace be upon him). Ordinarily, it would say "messenger" (singular), but it uses "messengers" (plural) because denying one messenger is equivalent to denying all messengers.
