Surah Al-Isra
أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِدُلُوكِ ٱلشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَقُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ ۖ إِنَّ قُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا
Aqimiṣ-ṣalāta lidulūkisy-syamsi ilā gasaqil-laili wa qur'ānal-fajr(i), inna qur'ānal-fajri kāna masyhūdā(n).
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur'an of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.

436) This verse explains the times for the five daily prayers. The declining of the sun indicates the time for the Zuhr and Asr prayers, while the darkness of the night indicates the time for the Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr prayers. 437) In a hadith narrated by Ahmad, it is mentioned that the Fajr prayer is witnessed by the angels who are on duty during the night and the day.
