Surah An-Nur
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ كَسَرَابٍۭ بِقِيعَةٍ يَحْسَبُهُ ٱلظَّمْـَٔانُ مَآءً حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَهُۥ لَمْ يَجِدْهُ شَيْـًٔا وَوَجَدَ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ فَوَفَّىٰهُ حِسَابَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ
Wal-lażīna kafarū a‘māluhum kasarābim biqī‘atiy yaḥsabuhuẓ-ẓam'ānu mā'ā(n), ḥattā iżā jā'ahū lam yajidhu syai'aw wa wajadallāha ‘indahū fa waffāhu ḥisābah(ū), wallāhu sarī‘ul-ḥisāb(i).
But those who disbelieved - their deeds are like a mirage in a lowland which a thirsty one thinks is water until, when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing but finds Allah before Him, and He will pay him in full his due; and Allah is swift in account.
📝 Footnotes
521) The disbelievers, because their deeds are not based on faith, will not receive any reward from Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) in the Hereafter, even though in this world they mistakenly believe they will be rewarded for those deeds.
