Surah Al-Furqan

وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا

Wa ‘ādaw wa ṡamūda wa aṣḥābar-rassi wa qurūnam baina żālika kaṡīrā(n).

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

532) Rass is a well whose water had dried up. The word was later used as the name of a people. They worshipped idols, and then Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) sent Prophet Shu‘ayb (peace be upon him) to them.
