Surah Al-Furqan

Qālū subḥānaka mā kāna yambagī lanā an nattakhiża min dūnika min auliyā'a wa lākim matta‘tahum wa ābā'ahum ḥattā nasuż-żikr(a), wa kānū qaumam būrā(n).

They will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for us to take besides You any allies. But You provided comforts for them and their fathers until they forgot the message and became a people ruined."

📝 Footnotes
527) After they are gathered together along with their deities—namely the angels, Ezra (Uzair), Prophet Jesus (Isa), and the idols—and after Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) questions those deities whether it was they who misled these people or if the people themselves went astray, the deities will reply that it was not fitting for them to worship anyone other than Allah, let alone command others to worship besides Him.
