Surah Az-Zukhruf
بَلْ مَتَّعْتُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ وَرَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
Bal matta‘tu hā'ulā'i wa ābā'ahum ḥattā jā'ahumul-ḥaqqu wa rasūlum mubīn(un).
However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger.
📝 Footnotes
679) Some of the descendants of Prophet Abraham (PBUH) forgot monotheism (tawhid) and failed to be grateful for the blessings and life bestowed by Allah. Allah did not punish them immediately; instead, He granted them provisions and pleasures until He revealed the Qur’an and sent a messenger to guide them.
