Surah Al-Hujurat
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Yā ayyuhal-lażīna āmanū lā tuqaddimū baina yadayillāhi wa rasūlihī wattaqullāh(a), innallāha samī‘un ‘alīm(un).
O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

68) What is meant is that the believers must not decree or decide upon any matter of law until a ruling has been established by Allah and His Messenger, in matters where a clarification from Allah or His Messenger is possible.
