Surah Al-Hadid
هُوَ ٱلْأَوَّلُ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرُ وَٱلظَّـٰهِرُ وَٱلْبَاطِنُ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Huwal-awwalu wal-ākhiru waẓ-ẓāhiru wal-bāṭin(u), wa huwa bikulli syai'in ‘alīm(un).
He is the First and the Last, the Ascendant and the Intimate, and He is, of all things, Knowing.

709) The Most First (Al-Awwal) means He existed before anything else, such that nothing preceded Him; The Most Last (Al-Akhir) means He will live forever after everything else perishes; The Most Manifest (Al-Zahir) means His existence is completely evident, both through contemplation of the universe He created and through logical and intuitive reasoning; and The Most Hidden (Al-Batin) means His essence and true reality cannot be reached by sight, intellect, or imagination.
