Surah Ta-Ha

فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُۥ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًا

Fa ta‘ālallāhul-malikul-ḥaqq(u), wa lā ta‘jal bil-qur'āni min qabli ay yuqḍā ilaika waḥyuh(ū), wa qur rabbi zidnī ‘ilmā(n).

So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

483) Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was forbidden by Allah the Almighty from repeating the recitation of Angel Jibril (Gabriel) word for word before Jibril finished reciting it, so that he could properly memorize and fully understand the revealed verses. Allah guaranteed that he would be able to memorize the verses revealed to him.
