Surah Al-Qasas
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۭ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيشَتَهَا ۖ فَتِلْكَ مَسَـٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ
Wa kam ahlaknā min qaryatim baṭirat ma‘īsyatahā, fatilka masākinuhum lam tuskam mim ba‘dihim illā qalīlā(n), wa kunnā naḥnul-wāriṡīn(a).
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors.

565) After its inhabitants were destroyed, the place became desolate and was never inhabited again, so that it ultimately reverted to its true Owner, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He).
