Surah Sad
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ أَهْلَهُۥ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
Wa wahabnā lahū ahlahū wa miṡlahum ma‘ahum raḥmatam minnā wa żikrā li'ulil-albāb(i).
And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding.

656) Prophet Job (peace be upon him) suffered from a skin disease for quite some time. He supplicated to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) to heal him. Allah accepted his prayer and commanded him to strike the ground with his foot. Prophet Job obeyed the command, and water gushed forth from where he struck his foot. He bathed with it and drank from it, and thus he was cured of his disease and was able to reunite with his family. Later, they multiplied to twice their original number. At one point, Prophet Job remembered his oath to strike his wife once he recovered from his illness because she had once neglected to take care of him while he was still sick. However, feeling pity and affection for his wife, he hesitated to fulfill that oath. Therefore, Allah’s guidance was revealed in verse 44, showing that he could fulfill his oath without having to hurt his wife, namely by striking her with a bundle of grass.
