Surah Ar-Rum
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Wa laqad arsalnā min qablika rusulan ilā qaumihim fajā'ūhum bil-bayyināti fantaqamnā minal-lażīna ajramū, wa kāna ḥaqqan ‘alainā naṣrul-mu'minīn(a).
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.

593) When the messengers came to their people with clear proofs, some of them believed while others denied them, and some even harmed them. Therefore, Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) retaliated by sending down punishment upon the rebellious.
