Surah Ar-Rum
مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Minal-lażīna farraqū dīnahum wa kānū syiya‘ā(n), kullu ḥizbim bimā ladaihim fariḥūn(a).
[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.

589) What is meant by "splintering their religion" is abandoning the religion of monotheism (tawhid) and adopting various beliefs according to their own desires.
