Surah Al-Ma'idah

ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓا۟ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَـٰنٌۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ۗ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْمَعُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ

Żālika adnā ay ya'tū bisy-syahādati ‘alā wajhihā au yakhāfū an turadda aimānum ba‘da aimānihim, wattaqullāha wasma‘ū, wallāhu lā yahdil qaumal-fāsiqīn(a).

That is more likely that they will give testimony according to its [true] objective, or [at least] they would fear that [other] oaths might be taken after their oaths. And fear Allah and listen; and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

235) The meaning of this expression is that the oaths of witnesses from a different religion are rejected by the oaths of witnesses from among the relatives. Alternatively, it can also mean that those who take a false oath will receive their punishment in this world and the Hereafter.
