Surah Al-Anfal
وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِحْدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُحِقَّ ٱلْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
Wa iż ya‘idukumullāhu iḥdaṭ-ṭā'ifataini annahā lakum wa tawaddūna anna gaira żātisy-syaukati takūnu lakum wa yurīdullāhu ay yuḥiqqal-ḥaqqa bikalimātihī wa yaqṭa‘a dābiral-kāfirīn(a).
[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers

306) The two groups were Abu Sufyan's caravan carrying merchandise from Sham (Syria) and the armed army coming from Makkah under the leadership of 'Utbah bin Rabi'ah and Abu Jahal.
