Surah Al-An'am
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلْقَادِرُ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًا مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعًا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُم بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ ۗ ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُونَ
Qul huwal-qādiru ‘alā ay yab‘aṡa ‘alaikum ‘ażābam min fauqikum au min taḥti arjulikum au yalbisakum syiya‘aw wa yużīqa ba‘ḍakum ba'sa ba‘ḍ(in), unẓur kaifa nuṣarriful-āyāti la‘allahum yafqahūn(a).
Say, "He is the [one] Able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet or to confuse you [so you become] sects and make you taste the violence of one another." Look how We diversify the signs that they might understand.

247) Punishment coming from above refers to stone rain, lightning strikes, and the like. Meanwhile, that which comes from below refers to events such as earthquakes and floods. 248) Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, explains the signs of His power in various forms and in different ways. Some scholars explain that the signs of Allah’s power take the form of warnings, parables, laws, and others.
