Surah An-Nisa

Wa la'uḍillannahum wa la'umanniyannahum wa la'āmurannahum fa layubattikunna āżānal-an‘āmi wa la'āmurannahum fa layugayyirunna khalqallāh(i), wa may yattakhiżisy-syaiṭāna waliyyam min dūnillāhi faqad khasira khusrānam mubīnā(n).

And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them [sinful] desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah." And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss.

📝 Footnotes
166) This means that Satan will truly mislead mankind by forbidding cattle that Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, has made lawful, or by making lawful what Allah has forbidden, as seen in the pre-Islamic Arab beliefs concerning baḥīrah, sā’ibah, waṣīlah, and ḥām (see Surah al-Mā’idah 5:103). 167) Altering Allah's creation can refer to physical modifications, such as changing one's biological sex, or altering the internal nature of human beings, such as corrupting their innate nature (fitrah, which is Islam) by adopting another religion.
