Surah An-Nisa
لَّيْسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلَآ أَمَانِىِّ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ۗ مَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا يُجْزَ بِهِۦ وَلَا يَجِدْ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا
Laisa bi'amāniyyikum wa lā amāniyyi ahlil-kitāb(i), may ya‘mal sū'ay yujza bih(ī), wa lā yajid lahū min dūnillāhi waliyyaw wa lā naṣīrā(n).
Paradise is not [obtained] by your wishful thinking nor by that of the People of the Scripture. Whoever does a wrong will be recompensed for it, and he will not find besides Allah a protector or a helper.

168) According to some commentators, the phrase "your desires" in this verse refers to the Muslims, while others believe that it refers to the polytheists. The meaning is that the reward in the Hereafter is not granted according to their wishful thinking, but rather in accordance with the decrees of religion.
