Surah Al-A'raf
فَلَمَّآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا صَـٰلِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُۥ شُرَكَآءَ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمَا ۚ فَتَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Falammā ātāhumā ṣāliḥan ja‘alā lahū syurakā'a fīmā ātāhumā, fa ta‘ālallāhu ‘ammā yusyrikūn(a).
But when He gives them a good [child], they ascribe partners to Him concerning that which He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.

300) In the view of the polytheists, the birth of their children was not solely a gift from Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, but also due to the blessings of the idols they worshiped. It was for this reason that they named their children Abdul Uzza (servant of Al-Uzza), Abdu Manat (servant of Manat), Abdusy Syams (servant of the Sun), and so forth.
