Surah Al-Baqarah

Huwal-lażī khalaqa lakum mā fil-arḍi jamī‘ā(n), ṡummastawā ilas-samā'i fasawwāhunna sab‘a samāwāt(in), wa huwa bikulli syai'in ‘alīm(un).

It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.

📝 Footnotes
12) The sky, which means the space outside the earth with all its contents (the moon, planets, comets, stars, galaxies) whose number is infinite (symbolized by the expression seven heavens), is actually continuously evolving. Many stars die, yet many stars are also born. Meanwhile, what is meant by perfecting is the continuous process of the formation of new stars since the creation of the universe.
